Last week I went out to Oregon's newest state park, Cottonwood Canyon to watch the Perseid Meteor shower far from any light pollution. The trek out there was definitely worth it! The Milky Way was extremely bright after the moon went down and was perfectly aligned with the John Day River as it snakes through the hilly desert. It was awesome being able to see tons of colorful long tailed and very bright shooting stars in the very dark sky!
